Dr. Jungeun Kim is committed to enhancing clients’ self-awareness and empowering them to build resilience and wholeness. Her approach is warmly interactive, collaborative, supportive, and insight-driven. Dr. Kim strives to create a safe/comfortable yet transformative relational space, where she can be attuned to clients’ strengths as well as struggles. For this, Dr. Kim works from an integrative framework that incorporates developmental, cognitive behavioral methods, existential, and interpersonal techniques. Thus, she emphasizes process work/here-and-now moments and attention to the interplay and influence of cultural, contextual, and social factors on clients’ presenting concerns.

Dr. Kim has a deepened understanding of identity, “Isms”, and other internalized societal messages to ‘different others.’ When appropriate, she addresses these issues with her clients and supervisees to affirm their unique, experienced realities.
