Dr. Sharline Shah is passionate about helping clients feel empowered to make positive changes that are realistic and sustainable. She believes deeply in the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and the impact it can have on health and wellbeing.
Dr. Shah uses a collaborative and interactive approach in therapy, grounded in scientific evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Her goal is for therapy to be a safe space where clients can be their authentic self while gaining the insight and support to appreciate their unique strengths and live a balanced, healthy, and happier lifestyle. Dr. Shah recognizes how social and cultural identities may impact the way a client moves through the world and, when appropriate, she focuses on cultural awareness with sensitivity, kindness, curiosity, and warmth.
Education & Experience
Dr. Shah obtained both her Doctorate and Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, and received her Bachelor’s Degree at UC Riverside. She has specialized training in health psychology and extensive experience treating patients within Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health and Specialty departments. She has a passion for psycho-education and completed her dissertation in Diabetes management. She has worked in a wide variety of healthcare settings including large non-profit hospitals, county hospitals, and smaller community health clinics.
Dr. Shah accepts Medicare and Aetna and currently welcomes new clients.
