Emily Olivares, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Emily Olivares is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist committed to helping others gain a deeper understanding of themselves to feel empowered to make meaningful changes in their life. She strives to provide authenticity, guidance, and support, while challenging clients to find value in themselves, identify personal obstacles, and move forward towards growth and healing.
With a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, Emily supports clients through life transitions, grief, and emotional wounds with compassion and empathy. She is deeply committed to empowering individuals to find their voice, build self-worth, and navigate life’s complexities. Emily views therapy as a collaborative journey, working alongside each client to identify meaningful goals and foster lasting change.
Emily tailors each session to meet the unique needs of her clients, recognizing that “no one path fits all.” She draws from a Person-Centered approach and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, and Narrative Therapy to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, build insight, and move toward healing.
Education & Experience
Emily earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton.
For eight years, Emily has worked with survivors of domestic violence through Laura’s House, where she provided therapy to children, individuals, and families. Through this work, she gained extensive experience addressing the emotional impact of abuse, trauma, anxiety, low self-worth, and grief. Her experience has strengthened her trauma-informed lens and deepened her ongoing commitment to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, empowered, and respected.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Emily provided leadership in the HEART program which educates teens on healthy relationships, and facilitated educational Personal Empowerment Program (PEP) groups.
