Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Maryam is a seasoned therapist with over a decade of experience, specializing in  supporting survivors of domestic violence, substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. Her  therapeutic approach is integrative, skillfully combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy  (CBT), Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy to tailor her interventions to the unique  needs of each client. Maryam is committed to collaborating with her clients to set and  achieve meaningful goals, guiding them through their personal journeys with compassion  and expertise.

Maryam views counseling as a profound journey of self-exploration, where the primary aim  is to enhance clients' self-understanding and self-awareness. She believes that clients are  the foremost experts in their own lives and emphasizes their role in discovering solutions  that lead to positive change. As a therapist, Maryam functions as a facilitator of this  journey, offering support and guidance while ensuring that her clients never feel alone in  their process. Her goal is to empower clients to overcome challenges, reach their  objectives, and ultimately lead more fulfilling and purposeful lives.

Education & Experience

Maryam earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State  University, Long Beach in 2010, following a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California  State University, Fullerton. Her education is complemented by a 40-hour certified training  in domestic violence, further enhancing her ability to address complex issues with  sensitivity and insight. Maryam's approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is particularly  structured; she ensures that each session is goal-oriented and productive, moving beyond  mere discussion to actively address and work towards specific objectives. This structured  approach guarantees that therapy sessions are both effective and meaningful, contributing  to the overall success of the therapeutic process.
