Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Alyssa Green is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. She brings both clinical and lived experience into her work and believes that healing is both courageous and deeply personal. Rather than avoiding pain, Alyssa helps clients build the capacity to move through it with support, insight, and practical tools.

She views therapy as a space not only for healing, but for becoming more aligned,  grounded, and fully present in one’s life. She is passionate about practicing what she teaches, integrating wellness into her own life through mindfulness, movement, reflection,  and intentional living and believes that healing is possible for everyone.

Alyssa specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges and life transitions. Using an integrative, attachment-based approach and tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, she incorporates psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, DBT-informed skills (emotional regulation, distress tolerance,  interpersonal effectiveness), trauma-informed care, and Brainspotting. Her clinical work focuses on understanding how early life experiences shape present day patterns, while also equipping clients with practical tools to create change.

Interpersonally, Alyssa brings a warm, relational, and honest presence into therapy. She is both compassionate and direct, creating a space where clients feel safe, seen, and gently challenged. She values authenticity and believes that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful vehicle for healing, meeting clients where they are while helping them move toward deeper self-awareness, healthier relationships, and greater emotional freedom.

Education & Experience

Alyssa earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University and has built a diverse clinical background over the past 15 years, working with individuals,  couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges.

Her experience includes supporting those struggling with addiction and codependency,  giving her a deep understanding of relational patterns, family dynamics, and recovery. She has also worked in elementary school settings, helping children and families develop emotional awareness, regulation, and resilience, and in church-based counseling environments, offering both clinical and faith-integrated care. Alyssa later expanded into higher levels of care, including Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) programs, where she worked with clients experiencing more acute mental health concerns and served as an eating disorder case manager. In her private practice, she has primarily supported adults and couples seeking deeper insight, healing, and lasting change in their lives and relationships.

In addition to her clinical work, Alyssa is a college professor and clinical supervisor,  teaching both undergraduate and graduate students while mentoring and training the next generation of therapists. She is also a podcast co-host, where she shares insights on relationships, mental health, and personal growth in a relatable, “older sister” style.

Outside of her professional roles, Alyssa is a mother who values being present, intentional,  and connected in her daily life. She enjoys yoga, journaling, and creating meaningful routines that support both mental and physical well-being.
