Gianna Araujo, Psy.D.
Registered Psychological Associate
As a psychologist, Dr. Gianna Araujo believes that the therapeutic relationship itself is a key part of the healing process. She emphasizes the importance of connection between the provider and patient, and strives to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space where her patients can feel seen, heard, and understood. By building a strong, collaborative relationship, Dr. Araujo helps her patients explore how their past relationships and experiences impact their present challenges, while also assisting them in envisioning how they would like to move forward. She integrates both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approaches to support her patients in gaining greater insight, developing new coping skills, and making meaningful changes in their lives. In her approach to therapy, she provides individualized, insight-oriented care that is tailored to each person’s unique experiences, needs, and backgrounds. She enjoys working with teens and adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, identity development, attachment issues, and spirituality-related development or concerns. Driven by a genuine commitment to helping others, she finds fulfillment in supporting her patients as they navigate their healing journey and pursue personal growth.
Education & Experience
Dr. Araujo holds both her Doctorate and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead School of Psychology and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Biola University. As part of her clinical training, Dr. Araujo completed her doctoral internship at the Psychological and Wellness Services Center at the University of Washington, Tacoma. Her experience includes working with culturally diverse patients, formerly incarcerated individuals, parents seeking reunification with their children, patients managing substance use disorders, mood disorders, significant life transitions, grief and loss, and interpersonal violence. Additionally, she has provided individual and group therapy services for both traditional and nontraditional college students as they navigated academic pressures, identity development, relationship challenges, family stressors, and the transition into adulthood. Upon request, Dr. Araujo offers an integrated incorporation of spirituality into therapy, working with patients both affirming or questioning traditional beliefs, as well as patients who identify as spiritual in diverse ways, including those exploring non-traditional or metaphysical beliefs.
