Clinical Psychologist
Many people ask psychologists, “Isn’t it hard to listen to people’s pain all day?” Dr. Asgari responds: “You can’t imagine how rewarding it is to witness changes and growth in your clients’ lives and to observe them moving forward regardless of the painful days or years they have faced. The joy of seeing these transformations far outweighs the difficult moments.”
Dr. Asgari is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with a diverse range of client populations to address and treat a wide array of behavioral health issues. She has extensive expertise helping clients resolve many common struggles such as depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and trauma. Recognizing that some mental health diagnoses may stem from untreated trauma, Dr. Asgari is particularly passionate about treating trauma (including sexual and military trauma) that has developed into PTSD.
Education & Experience
Dr. Asgari received her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University and her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
She has been trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Prior to private practice, Dr. Asgari worked at Veteran Affairs, where she was trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)—two of the most studied treatments for PTSD, which have consistently shown to be highly effective.
As a bicultural and bilingual Psychologist, Dr. Asgari offers therapy services in both English and Farsi.
