By Scott Galloway

Message from our founder, Kristin Kleppe, PsyD
I personally selected Orange County Health Psychologist’s December Book of the Month because, as many of you, I am worried about the future of the young men in our country today. Author Scott Galloway has been sounding the alarm for years, citing examples of how young men are falling further behind in many areas of life including education, career, financial strength, friendships, dating and marriage, fatherhood, and most importantly their mental health.
In Notes on Being A Man, Galloway explores what it means to be a man in modern America. He writes about the importance of healthy masculinity and mental strength. He cites evidence of the problems and provides practical advice on how to succeed despite them. It’s my hope that the men who see this book in our lobbies, or on social media, will read it and use it in their therapy as a road map for turning the tide.
This book is for all of us…. not just for young men. It’s for the parents, grandparents, and relatives of young men who worry about their loved one’s future. And, it’s for the young women who despair of finding a romantic partner, have given up on looking, or have resigned to a future on their own.I hope you’ll read Notes on Being a Man and find value in the solutions it offers.
